Hello, my experience with these older migrations is to migrate first to QuickBooks 2006 then to 2012 this is due to some database changes made in the 2006 version.

I have a client working with QB pro 2002 and I need to migrate her data forward so I can get her using a newer version and upgrade her to a new computer. I am considering doing a full backup copy and just migrating all data to a new computer with a 2012 version of QB but am concerned about the transition. I currently have QB Accountant versions of 2009, 2010, 2001 and 2012. I also have QB Pro 2005, 2006 and 2008. Would I be better off migrating it to an earlier year and then attempting to migrate it forward?

When doing your reconcilation it is always helpful to have the check register not just the bank statement. Those mystry checks with a name will usually be easier to categorize and you won't end up with so many items in the suspense list.
